Janice M. Laurente is Executive Vice President of Public Affairs at Moxie Strategies, where she advises clients in highly regulated industries and high-stakes public environments on complex policy, reputational, and stakeholder challenges. A trusted strategist to governments, foundations, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, and political leaders, she develops integrated campaigns that shape public narratives, influence decision-makers, and drive meaningful change.

A former U.S. diplomat and federal spokesperson, Janice is known for translating complex regulatory, scientific, and environmental issues into clear, persuasive communications that connect with people, build trust, and inspire action. She has led communications through congressional investigations, geopolitical crises, natural disasters, and public health emergencies—bringing disciplined judgment when public scrutiny is intense and stakes are highest.

Before joining Moxie, Janice directed strategic communications for U.S. government energy programs valued at more than half a billion dollars across 50+ countries, accelerating clean energy adoption, strengthening energy security, and mobilizing investment in emerging markets. Her previous leadership roles include leading public affairs for U.S. global development programs, as well as senior communications positions with Tetra Tech, the Peace Corps, the U.S.Senate, and Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

She has advised leading institutions including theGates Foundation, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Natural ResourcesDefense Council, the Business Software Alliance, and Monterey Bay Aquarium.Having lived in five countries and traveled to nearly 70, she brings a global perspective shaped by firsthand experience across diverse political and cultural environments. Janice is a graduate of Rutgers University and is based in Washington, D.C.
